From the award of contract in 2009 until completion in June 2010, Klick gave us their full attention. At the outset, we particularly valued the durability of the 'Velstone' surfaces and the strength of the steel in the frames and carcasses. Thereafter, we appreciated the attention given to the detail that we wanted - universal locking, 180 degree hinges, upgraded tap fittings, etc, etc. The colour ranges were also very good. Installation on site by Klick's own staff was on time, very professional and very neat. After-sales service has been equally quick and efficient. Project Brief
The Marlborough School were looking for a high specification that would withstand intensive use in their new science block. The project required close collaboration with Mouchel to refine the design details in line with their specification.
The bollards and the bagstore were designed to include a steel frame for extra durability. In the prep rooms Trespa shelves were supported by metal frames fastened to the back wall. Velstone was selected as the workbench material in the labs as this has excellent chemical resistance and is easy to maintain even if stains do occur. The school opted for recessed chrome handles and co-ordinating satin chrome taps. A mobile demo area was designed to allow greater flexibility for the teaching staff.
Modifications to the programme were made, in consultation with Leadbitter and the project was successfully completed in May 2010.
